Acres Improved
Senior Project Scientist:

The Project

RK&K engineers designed site improvements for facility upgrades including track reconfiguration, arena facilities, irrigation pond, utility upgrades, and the cross-country course.

Our Natural Resources team provided early coordination with regulatory agencies to solicit feedback on design elements, ensure avoidance and minimization of sensitive resources, and expedite the review process.

A Natural Resource Inventory, Forest Stand Delineation, and Forest Conservation Plan were completed on 245 acres to identify wetlands, waterways, and high quality forested areas. A Joint Permit Application was submitted to meet USACE and MDE wetland/waterway requirements, and impacts were authorized.

“Our multi-disciplinary team worked well together to meet a tight permit approval schedule. Thoroughly discussing natural resource constraints and other permitting challenges allowed us to obtain authorizations from MDE and USACE within 5 months.”
