The Project

RK&K provides inspection and engineering services for facility condition inspections to MDTA on an annual basis.

We are responsible for project management, subconsultant coordination, hands-on NBIS and cursory inspections completed by certified engineer inspectors, condition reporting, and QA/QC. Our varied tasks include fracture critical member and underwater inspections.

This work encompasses all of the MDTA statewide facilities including two tunnels, Chesapeake Bay Bridge, Francis Scott Key and Nice Bridge, numerous other highway bridges over roadways, rivers and railroads and all other highway related assets.

We provide rehabilitation designs and strategies, both on an emergency and programmed basis, based upon the findings of these inspections.

Client
Maryland Transportation Authority

“There are unique challenges associated with every structure we inspect - from the trusses of the Bay Bridge to two-span steel girder bridges on the interstate. I am proud to assist in keeping travelling public safe and our highways maintained.”
