During their recent Engineering Excellence Awards, the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Virginia selected Senior Engineer Kush Vashee, PE, CAPM as the first-ever recipient of their Next Generation award.
The ACEC Virginia Rising Star Award, presented by their Next Generation Committee, recognizes employees of member firms who make a significant contribution to their company’s success in the engineering industry.
Vashee currently serves as either project manager or lead designer on several roadway improvement projects for Loudoun County, Fairfax County, and the Town of Herndon.
“Kush’s collaborative approach, quality of work, ability to engage clients and coworkers and ability to manage projects have earned him the opportunity to lead projects at such an early stage of his career,” stated his RK&K colleagues in his nomination form.
He was praised for his work internally and externally, as part of professional organizations like the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Society of Highway Engineers, as well as being a member of RK&K’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council and Sustainability Service Group.
Vashee was also credited for creating RK&K’s innovative Bluebeam QA/QC toolbox and remote QC reviews that improved and streamlined reviews across disciplines during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I would like to thank Senior Project Delivery Leader Matthew Kaiser, PE, for his assistance with the nomination and, of course, RK&K, for their continued support of me and my career,” said Vashee.
RK&K has been named a ‘Top Workplace’ for the last nine consecutive years. Interested in joining our team? Check out our current opportunities here.
