RK&K’s efforts to help redevelop the Wilmington, Delaware riverfront was recently highlighted In Condé Nast Traveler’s article “The 23 Best Places to Go in the U.S. in 2023.”
The travel magazine noted the $100 million Riverfront East project in its section about Wilmington, noting, “Along the Christina River, the highly anticipated Riverfront East project is set to bring even more new restaurants to the neighborhood starting in 2023.”
RK&K is serving as the engineer of record for all infrastructure improvements for the 86-acre mixed-use development project along the river. Design infrastructure improvements include roads, bicycle facilities, transit facilities, the riverwalk, structures (retaining walls and viewing vistas), traffic analysis and design, surveys, and utility coordination and design. RK&K also helped develop the project’s Master Plan, preparing cost estimates for all infrastructure improvements.
In addition to parks and public spaces, Riverfront East features 1.9 million square feet of office space, 357,000 square feet of retail space, and more than 4,200 residential units upon completion.
