ACEC Delaware recently recognized two RK&K projects with Engineering Excellence Awards.
Senator Margaret Rose Bridge
RK&K’s work on the Senator Margaret Rose Bridge for the Delaware Department of Transportation received the Grand Conceptor Award, ACEC Delaware’s top prize. The team provided engineering services for the bridge and approaches from project development through construction engineering. Through innovative engineering techniques, the bridge and its network of new approach roadways and multi-use paths encourages economic development and community connectivity for southern Wilmington.
U.S. Route 301
The firm’s work on the new US 301, one of the largest transportation projects ever built in Delaware, took home an Honor Award. The general engineering consultant team succeeded in constructing a 14-mile, limited-access highway with four interchanges, 28 bridges, and tolls collected using the state’s first AET system.
ACEC Delaware’s Engineering Excellence Awards program recognizes engineering achievements demonstrating the highest degree of skill and ingenuity, while providing a significant benefit to the public welfare and the practice of consulting engineering.
