Patrick Hager has been promoted to Director, Utilities in the Baltimore office of RK&K, and will lead both the Utilities and Right-of-Way/Real Estate departments. He has more than 26 years (17 with RK&K) of engineering design and project and construction management experience specializing in water and wastewater systems, utility coordination, utility impacts assessments, and utility mitigation and relocation design.
Recently, Patrick has led major transportation and rail projects, Red Line and Purple Line, which includes the development of existing utility plans, large scale subsurface utility engineering (SUE) programs, utility impact analysis and avoidance, development of complex utility mitigation and relocation plans, coordination with utility stakeholders, development of memorandums of agreements between utility owners and the client, cost analysis, schedule development, and permitting.
Patrick earned his BS from the University of Maryland College Park and MS from Johns Hopkins University. He a licensed professional engineer in the states of Maryland and Delaware and is active with County Engineers Association of Maryland, MdQI Steering Committee, Co-Chair of MdQI Utilities Committee and ACEC Utilities Committee.
When asked about his plans for the role, Patrick said his goals are to “grow and expand our Utilities Department and collaborate to develop a Baltimore-based gas design group to support our Energy/Corrosion Department. In addition, over the past couple of years we have added experienced right-of-way/real estate professionals to our team, and we are focused on working to establish RK&K’s services to support clients in those areas.”
Patrick is a resident of Kent Island, MD where he enjoys fishing, crabbing, and most of all, spending time with his wife and two daughters.
