The Project
RK&K was selected by NCDOT to provide CEI Services on three projects consisting of a 12-mile stretch of the I-785/I-840 Greensboro Loop with an overall construction cost of over $337M.
These projects consisted of interstate mainline concrete pavement, interchanges, 31 bridges including bridges over railroads, culverts, retaining walls, Signals and ITS, earthwork, environmentally sensitive areas, complex traffic phasing and traffic management plans. Work on the first section began in 2014 and overall completion is expected to be in late 2021.
RK&K provided 38 CEI staff including Assistant Resident Engineers, Office Technicians, Project Inspectors and Technicians to ensure compliance with the project specifications.
