AC Modeling and Mitigation
RK&K is positioned to assist our clients with the assessment of AC interference and the development of the most appropriate AC mitigation methods. After reviewing the available data, RK&K’s staff conducts on-site visits to verify the data provided and review existing conditions, perform field surveys, measure soil resistivity and collect any other information related to the area and high voltage system.
Our personnel include registered Professional Engineers, NACE certified specialists, technologists and technicians. RK&K’s approach to AC mitigation is in accordance with NACE standard SPO177, “Recommended Practice on Mitigation of Alternating Current and Lighting Effects on Metallic Structures and Corrosion Control Systems” and IEEE Standard 80 “Safety for AC Substation Grounding.”
