Water and Wastes Digest recently named RK&K’s work finding innovative ways to reduce and reuse biosolids with the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Regional Sewer Authority (HRRSA) as one of its 2020 top projects!
HRRSA aims to reduce the volume of Class B biosolids produced at the North River Wastewater Treatment Plant in Mount Crawford, VA by using thermal drying to produce more useful and valuable Class A EQ biosolids. RK&K HRRSA toward this goal by using the use of poultry sludge as a fuel to help the thermal drying system reach its full potential by producing the maximum amount of Class A biosolids.
