The Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award
RK&K’s Women’s Leadership Forum (RWLF) was recently presented with the Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award at the WTS North Carolina Triangle’s Go Gala.
Since 2015, the RWLF has supported, advocated, and promoted the skill sets of every woman who works at RK&K while providing a forum for communication and professional development. The RWLF creates several high-level learning opportunities such as interactive seminars, firmwide International Women’s Day celebrations, and empowering guest speakers and events, while cultivating a receptive environment for women to explore and overcome the challenges they can face in the industry.
The Rosa Parks Diversity Leadership Award recognizes these extraordinary efforts and initiatives in facilitating professional opportunities for women and minorities. The RWLF was praised for making significant contributions to promoting diversity, inclusion, and multi-cultural awareness within their organization, the transportation industry, or in a project or activity that supports that goals and mission of WTS.
“The Women’s Leadership Forum, which is open to anyone at RK&K, provides a platform for education, dialogue, and mentorship for professional development and advancement,” said Mimi Sweitzer, PE, Project Manager. “It provided immediate connections for me when I started working at RK&K,” Mimi added.
